Welcome to Calmore Infant School.

A warm welcome to our website from the staff, children, Governors, Friends of Calmore Infant School!

I am proud to be the Headteacher of Calmore Infant School, a friendly and welcoming 2 form entry Infant School. Our committed team together make sure that all children in our school are happy, safe and well supported. We are very caring and nurturing and as a school, will always go the extra mile for our children, making sure that their time with us is positive, inspiring and yet still challenging. We have an award winning nurture group to support children as well as a school ELSA (emotional literacy support assistant).

We have dedicated outdoor areas for all year groups to provide learning opportunities outside the classroom. Our school grounds are extensive with a woodland area, field and large playground. These are often used for our ‘Welly walks’ where we observe the changes in seasons and work outdoors regardless of the weather! We are not fazed by being outside in the British weather.

We want every child to be challenged, nurtured and to try new experiences. We spend time thinking about our school learning heroes which help us to think about the way in which we learn. We acknowledge that learning is hard at times and reflect upon any ‘muddles’ we make to help us to think about our future learning. We want our children to achieve both academically and socially. Our aim is for all the children to be lifelong learners and to continue to access new opportunities and experiences. We celebrate and embrace our differences and similarities, valuing each member of our school community as an individual.

Our mascot is Milly the school Rocking horse who stands in the entrance hall. For some of our parents Milly is a reminder of their time in the school! We value the support of our parents and we aim to work in partnership to achieve the best from any child being at our school. The school is fortunate to have a very active Friends Association to help raise money for different resources in school. We also have the Caterpillar Pre-school on site. Many of our working parents use the breakfast club provided at the Junior School and the Flamingo after school club in our school.

We are proud of our school and our children’s achievements and we hope you enjoy looking through our website, and finding out about us. If you have any queries or if you wish to visit please contact the school office and we will be happy to help.

I look forward to welcoming you to Calmore Infant School
