OFSTED March 2018
“Staff are exceptionally positive, demonstrating that the school have built a strong culture among staff as they continually improve their professional practice.”
We are proud to be part of the Testwood Sports College Partnership. We maximise our sports funding use to benefit staff through quality CPD and training for all children to take part in inter-school competitions.
We believe that sport is very important for all our children and opportunities to try different sports and take part in our school teams is actively encouraged.
Sportsmanship is key to developing learning behaviours such as resilience, working together, reflection and applying skills. For our children we believe regular sport is key to a healthy lifestyle and social awareness – it has the key elements of SMSC. We know sport and exercise benefits our children’s learning and self esteem.
For details on the impact of sports funding, please see our policies section.

Sports Week July 2017
All of the children have had the opportunity to take part in Sports Week.
We kicked off the week with sessions on the apparatus giving the children the opportunity to use different skills and techniques on the apparatus.
Tuesday morning we loved being outside in the sunshine and learning new tennis skills. We have now learnt to rally with our partners and now hold the racket with one hand side on. Lots of us are really excited to put these new skills into place over the summer holidays.
We have also been learning new dance moves including being cheer leaders and making up our own dances.
Not all sports are fast paced and energetic as we found out when we tried yoga and all came out calm and refreshed.
The week ended with another new sport when golf had us all focusing on our ball controlling skills.
